Promoting initiatives related to natural capital and biodiversity throughout the supply chain through the "aiESG" ESG analysis service
(Head office: Hakata-ku, Fukuoka; Representative Director: Shunsuke Managi; hereinafter "aiESG"), an ESG evaluation company, has endorsed the philosophy of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD*1) and has joined the TNFD Forum*2 to support its activities. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") has agreed with the principles of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD *1) and joined the TNFD Forum *2 to support its activities.
In recent years, "Nature Positive" has become a global trend as a new concept following carbon neutrality and the circular economy. Nature Positive aims not only to halt the loss of natural capital and biodiversity, but also to conserve and restore natural capital, and its importance is being recognized in corporate management.
In response to this trend, the International Initiative Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) was established in June 2021 to establish a framework for private companies and financial institutions to properly assess and disclose risks and opportunities related to natural capital and biodiversity.
TNFD aims to shift the global flow of financial capital toward nature positivity, and develops and provides a risk management and disclosure framework for companies and organizations to report and address nature-related risks. In Japan, sustainability information disclosure will be expanded in securities reports starting in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, and biodiversity may also be subject to such disclosure.
We offer aiESG, a comprehensive ESG analysis service that traces the entire supply chain for products and services, providing science-based data and compelling visualizations to help companies identify ESG and risk factors throughout the supply chain. We assist companies that wish to identify ESG and risk factors throughout the entire process of supplying their products.
Furthermore, in ESG analysis using aiESG, CO2In addition to greenhouse gases such as CO2 and other greenhouse gases, it is also possible to trace back the supply chain to analyze social and governance aspects, including water consumption, forest area, biomass usage, biodiversity, human rights, and labor environment, all of which have become increasingly important in recent years. This provides companies and organizations with a comprehensive assessment and appropriate disclosure and response measures.
Against the backdrop of the aforementioned heightened social concern, the formulation of business strategies that contribute to natural capital and appropriate information disclosure have become indispensable elements for a company to continue to be valued by investors and other stakeholders over the long term. We recognize the importance of this and support companies on their path to sustainable growth.
With our participation in the Forum, we will further promote our support for risk management and information disclosure by companies and organizations through our ESG analysis service "aiESG" and our efforts to realize a sustainable society.
